Quality Technician
Conroe, TX | Full-Time | Day Shift | Monday-Friday: 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
Position Overview:
Precision Glass Industries is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Technician to join our Quality team in Conroe. This is a hands-on production-floor position responsible for helping ensure our architectural glass products meet customer expectations and quality standards through inspections, process audits, issue investigation, employee training, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process.
- Conduct audits to verify compliance with quality procedures and standards.
- Investigate quality concerns and assist with root cause analysis.
- Monitor production processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Analyze customer complaints and quality trends.
- Review drawings and specifications to ensure product compliance.
- Document inspection results and maintain quality records.
- Work closely with production teams to reduce remakes, recuts, and customer complaints.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.
- Stop or hold nonconforming products when necessary to protect quality standards.
- Train and onboard new employees on quality standards, inspection procedures, work instructions, and customer requirements.
- Provide ongoing training and coaching to reinforce quality expectations and process compliance.
- Verify employee understanding of quality procedures and support quality awareness throughout the operation.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to use a measuring tape and read measurements in the imperial system.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Ability to perform basic statistical analysis and track quality metrics.
- Strong ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures and forms.
- Experience in manufacturing, quality control, or quality assurance is preferred.
- Glass industry experience is a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
- Proactive, self-motivated, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable addressing quality issues.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Must have reliable transportation and reside in or near the Conroe area.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule when business needs require.
Physical & Schedule Requirements:
- Approximately 90% of this position is spent in production areas supporting operations and ensuring quality standards are met.
- Must be able and willing to work 12-hour shifts.
- Must be physically capable of safely lifting, handling, moving, and assisting with heavy pieces of architectural glass throughout the shift, individually or with team/mechanical assistance as appropriate.
- Must be able to remain active and on your feet for extended periods during the shift.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing, shipping, logistics, or production-floor environment, as applicable to the position.
- Must follow all required safety procedures and properly use required PPE.
- Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance is required.
